Guiding Philosophy

We see poverty as a vicious circle that undermines the capability of individuals to envision a better future for their families. It is characterized by a complicated web of lack of dignified livelihood, poor education, unemployment or underemployment, poor health condition which results in poor quality of life.

The guiding philosophy of SST is to enable people for their sustainable development. We strongly believe that development can take place only when the local people’s capacity is built up to address their and the need of their community. This is the first step to address the complex multi-dimensional nature of poverty.

SST believes in looking at the complexity of the issues that it needs to address, keeping education and livelihood as the core. We believe that better educational and dignified livelihood opportunities would enable communities to tackle the multi-dimensional nature of poverty and move towards a dignified future.
